MIN. 5-7 years of relevant exp required. The Availability Engineer will ensure WSS critical applications are always available and running at peak performance by providing pro-active alerting when critical thresholds are met or exceeded. The Availability Engineer will work with the firms core technology groups, will identify and mitigate monitoring gaps on an application by application basis, create visualization dashboards based on customer requirements, provide subject matter expertise as part of application implementations, and participate in special engagements such as P1/S1 processes. The position has a technical focus and is primarily responsible for the detailed analysis and design of availability monitoring solutions. The Availability Engineer must have the practical experience to perform availability monitoring activities required to design and engineer the applications availability plans. Knowledge of availability monitoring methodologies & best practices is required. The individual must design and engineer availability monitoring plans, which contain current server configurations, process mappings, threshold expectations and constraints for each application for which the team is responsible.
