Under general supervision, applies change management processes to install
and maintain the company's infrastructure systems by installing, tuning,
and patching operating system and application software under established
guidelines. Builds and installs complex server hardware according to
architectural standards. Assesses and resolves server and network issues
via the Trouble Ticket process and by utilizing appropriate vendor and site
contacts as necessary. Acts as a technical resource, providing guidance to
applications support functions. Assists in supervising others. Provides
basic job training and guidance on a regular basis; performs work of same
or closely allied nature. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly
on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Skills are
typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in an IT
related discipline or equivalent related work experience and more than 5
years of experience but less than 10 isystems administration experience in
a corporate IT environment.

*JOB SUMMARY:* This job supports the users of micro computing technology,
such as desktop computers, local area networks, laptop computers and web
applications by providing advice, installation services, ongoing support,
and planning.

*MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:*
 Support the Advanced Device Management (ADM) technical platform.
 Support ADM infrastructure by diagnosing and fixing software configuration
problems using general skills and a knowledge of standard Medtronic
configurations.
 Provide customer service for clinicians utilizing the ADM system for
remote viewing and remote control of CRHD programmers.
 Escalate operational issues with Bomgar (vendor of remote view platform).
 Troubleshoot remote connection issues.
 Maintain Bomgar infrastructure at current release and patching levels.
 Install new servers and appliances or upgrade existing equipment based on
predetermined standards and procedures.
 Assist in the development of new standards and procedures to govern the
installation and support of ADM infrastructure.
 Install, test and document new software products and recommend their
adoption as standards.
 Provide administrative support for the purchase, follow-up, installation,
and inventory of computer hardware and software for the department
 Lead small to medium sized projects in the infrastructure support arena.
 Ensure that Medtronic's systems and the information on them are protected
in accordance with Medtronic's Information Protection Policies and
Standards, as well as best Information Protection practices.


*BASIC QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION REQUIRED*
 Bachelor's degree OR 8 years of work experience in lieu of a 4 year degree
or a combination of work and education to equal a 4 year degree
*YEARS OF EXPERIENCE*
 3-5 years of IT experience with B.A or B.S.; 0-3 years of IT experience
with M.A. or M.S.ยท

*SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED*
 *Windows Server 2008 and 2012 R2*
* Linux application support* experience
 *Network trouble shooting skills* - Must be able to work through
connectivity issues between MDT and outside clinics Versed in web
application support (session key portal must be supported)

 *Active Directory* experience
 *SQL knowledge* and experience
 System certificate management
 ITSM toolset and support process experience (ServiceNow)
o Must respond to incidents quickly and work diligently to resolve problems
o Must be good at customer follow-up and tracking incidents
o Excellent troubleshooting skills (must be able to pinpoint root of
problem)
 Test plan writing, execution and reporting experience
 Good communication skills (written and verbal) with internal and external
stakeholders
