produce RTF documents on the fly based upon users queries to a asset management
system we run. Basically the request will create pages

I can't see how the text can be behind the template. Are you using
Acrobat as the viewer? Maybe you should post the pdf.

When viewing a pdf file in Acrobat there is a page
number at the foot of the window usually of the form
'101 of 200' for example.
I have seen documents where this reads something like
'94 (101 of 200)' so that it indicates the printed
page number as well as the physical number.
Is it possible to r
