If you are working with very large files with iText in a Solaris 10
environment you should be aware that Sol10 has a new 'feature' called fair
share (or something similar). The tech guys are looking at it right now. If
Sol10 determines that your long running process is taking more than its fair
share of system resources, it will decrease the priority of your threads,
which results in huge slowdowns. My process was taking 5 hours on a 500Mb
file and 48+ hours for a 700Mb file. Sol10 was dropping the thread priority
down to -25, which put them behind every other process on the system.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up if you are experiencing strange
performance issues on Sol10.
