OK so it seems there isn't much of a production
solution to CC on Myth using ivtv. That's cool, at
least now I know. ;)

Cory,
I've tried several versions of the nvidia driver and based on what I
see and what I've read in the nvidia forums the interlace feature of
the driver doesn't work correctly. The 1.0.6xxx drivers all double the
scan lines, effectively halving the resolution. The 1.0.7xxx drivers
seem to drop t

The end of my local.start file contains:
echo "Initializing MPEG decoder..."
/bin/dd if=/dev/video0 of=/dev/video16 bs=65k count=25
echo "Resetting VBI options..."
/usr/local/bin/ivtvctl -x 1 -w cc -b cc
this is almost exactly what i did to get the captioning to work
on live tv and on record
Nicer than any tvout on any vid card I've ever seen... would you agree?
Just a quick question... did you use a crystal for the 3.58MHz color
subcarrier? Is that the trimmer cap you're talking about? I had a bugger
of a time getting it calibrated, as I don't have a spectrum analyzer. I

The solution for me was to set the ivtv options much later in the boot
process, well after the ivtv module itself was loaded and after I
initialized it with dd. On my Gentoo system I put the ivtvctl command in
my /etc/conf.d/local.start file, and that makes CC work for both live TV
and in recor
Apologies. I have answered my own question by passing the correct tuner
option in the /etc/modprobe.d/ivtv file when using the 0.2 version.
Namely:
options ivtv ivtv_debug=1 tuner=38
I thought I had tried that before, but I might not have unloaded/loaded
the modules correctly.
It doesn't answe

Cory, Bryan,
Thanks for the info, I will experiment with other DisplaySize values
in a 4:3 ratio until I find a text size that is comfortable.
Cory, the hardware I built is the same as yours, it uses a 3.579545MHz
crystal adjusted with the trimmer (good enough for the application

I'm trying to get widescreen switching working and I was wondering if
anyone had successfully got this working for PAL on a 350?
Several months ago, I tried to get this working using the 0.2 driver
on my Panasonic TV.
When trying 'ivtvctl -x 1 -b wss -x wss', my TV would interpret some
switching s

Thanks for the suggestion. I fixed my problem with rebuilding the RAM disk with the following command.
mkinitrd -f /boot/initrd-`uname -r`.img `uname -r`
I rebooted and both the PVR350 and PVR150 on 0.3.7a are working.
Thanks

I now have my PVR350 and PVR150 working fine with the ivtv 0.3.7a and Fedora Core3. Since everyone has been so helpful, I wanted to provide some feedback on how I resolved this.
PVR-350 Working with Fedora and ivtv 0.2.0-rc3j

Hi,
I'm having a few problems with my PVR 150. Basically, while using the
0.2.0 (rc3j) driver, I get nothing but a coloured fuzzy static on my tuner
(but perfectly clear pictures on my SVideo and composite ports (in
colour)).
Whilst using the 0.3.7 (a) driver, I get a clear picture on all three
