MythTV should overscan by default with xv playback. Do the other applications
overscan or is it just MythTV that seems to have problems. If it's just
MythTV, make sure you haven't selected 'Use GUI size for TV Playback' in the
setup.
In my setup every Program, that uses xv or x11 overcans

the problem is solved. It was a problem of mythtv. I checked the option
"use libmpeg for TV" (or similar) and the ghosts disappeared. Maybe an
ffmpeg problem?

This may be entirely unrelated to the hardware. Ghosting effects can be
caused by reception or wiring - you're effectively receiving a delayed
echo of the original transmission.
But my TV hasn't this problem with the same wire.

It's playback. I didn't test recording. I switched on something like
"using xv" in myth.

I have a problem what maybe is meant by "ghosting". My picture looks
good, but I have a second picture that consist of some contrasts. I can
see it very well when I watch a soccer game. Then I can see the real
lines on the field and their "ghosts". The ghost pictur is delayed

did a simple
nxtvepg -daemon -acqpassive
and before that I changed the channel to an teletext supporting one with
ivtvctl.
With the 0.3.5x driver I can't get any teletext information.

When I tried to check, wether my Livetv is that slow and wether it drops
many frames, I found the command "xine-check". It tells me the following:
+ My Xv Extension supports Yv12
+ My Xserver does not! Xine has to do all color reconfiguration through
the cpu
