Hello, I searched the mailing list archive, but I couldn't find the answer I'm looking for.
Here's what I would like to do, but I don't know how. I am putting together a mythtv box. I've noticed that when ivtv-fb is loaded random junk is put on the TV screen, whatever is left over in the framebuffer. Before X starts I would like to put a "pretty image" in the frame buffer so I have something to look at while the machine boots and X starts, etc. Idealy I would like to do the following: 1. load ivtv-fb 2. immediately load a pretty image in the fb and "lock it in". don't let X modify the fb until later. 3. start X 4. auto login user mythtv 5. during the mythtv user .xsession "unlock" the fb and let X take over. Is that possible? Any help is appreciated. Thanks to all the developers, doc writers, testers and maligned loved ones for making ivtv work. I am having a ball. Cheers, Curt p.s. please CC me directly on any reply. -- ======================================================================== Curt Brune | Phone 1.650.380.2528 | Managing Principal [EMAIL PROTECTED] | WWW www.cucy.com | Cucy Systems ======================================================================== Cucy Systems -- Software.
