+1 for designing & building this from scratch while bringing in ideas from

Axis2 is not a WS-BPEL engine. But Apache ODE has Axis2 based integration
layer. Please have a look at http://ode.apache.org/ and refer
http://ode.apache.org/architectural-overview.html for more information about
ODE architecture.
