Yes, JMF probably does support more codecs. And, I believe you can only

We won't be adding any new sound features for 1.3 beta2 or fcs.

hm,
I can't create a MediaContainer with a .mp3 file, but jmf can handle
mpeg layer 3.
the sound rendering may be the same, but codecs aren't supported in
Java 3D Sound and JMF both use the same sound rendering technology, so

the one that best fits. It boils down to whether or not you need 3D

hi all,
I want to extend my 3D apps with sound, so I wonder whether I should use

AFAIK Java3D MediaContainer neither support streaming media nor the .mp3

I think it all depends on how quickly Sun can prepare for automatic download
for JavaWebStart and Java Plug-in.
I believe that Sun is preparing Java2 JRE and many other optional packages
such as Java3D for automatic download.

Ok, now I am confused. I was under the strong impression
that I simply could take the Java3D DLLs and JAR files
and bundle with my application.
In the license agreement it says that I may distribute it as
long as I:

We definitely need clarification on this issue too. We have to run Java3D within the applet envir

You don't need to load the native libs manually.
Marc van Woerkom ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) found my application

Hi,
This is bug 4599422
- Problem in multitexture using TextureCubeMap
which part of it is specific to D3D.
It is fixed in v1.3 beta2.
Thanks.

Could someone give me a suggestion on creating such a thin 3D round
disc with a narrow slit in the middle? I want to create it programmatically.
But due some degeneracy in geometry, i.e., thickness << diameter,
slit_width << diameter makes things a little bit of more thinking.

Hi Juergen,

The auto-download work is happening by a group independent of Java 3D.
The Java 3D
part is complete in 1.2.1_04, but the auto-download work still needs to
be done.

Doug,
1.2.1_04 is the current release. Is it working in this release, or do you mean to
say a later release? If later, when will it be available?
Thank you

Hello again,
Following my email, I tried with the OpenGL version of Java3D and BINGO it
is working!
There is probably something wrong with the directX version of Java3D1_3 and
TextureCubeMap.
Best regards,
Christian.

Yes and yes it's a bug and will be fixed in 1.3b2 which hopefully will
come out soon (I hope before 2 weeks)

Hello,
I have a very weird problem with the TextureCubeMap, when I load a file and
apply a texturecubemap for ALL the elements everything's fine the reflection
with every element is perfect. If I introduce any other object with a
different texture them Boom the reflection is disappearing or using

Hi All,
I need some confirmation that I have understood the licensing terms
correctly, before we drop Java 3D for our biological imaging

Java 3D -
We cannot include the sun license with our program as we use the LGPL.
We cannot

Justin,
You are wrong saying you can do an SVG implementation over a generic
DOM. I tried to explain it to you and the SVG Working Group chair
as well as Thomas DeWeese gave you further detailed explanations.
This will require that you understand a number of things about DOM, CSS
and the SVG spe
