Hi all,

some while ago, I've posted a rather esoteric bug here but never got an
answer.
But the thing keeps troubling me, so I repost it hoping that in the
meantime,
somebody dig something up ...

I've implemented a lens flare system using screen-aligned overlays of
polygons having RGBA-textures. In addition to texture alpha, I'm using the
TransparencyAttributes setting to control overall alpha of flare components.
Now on my GeForce TI4200 under W2K with all the latest drivers and *no*
problems with any other 3D apps, the following happens:

When running in windowed mode, everything is fine regardless of window size.
When running in fullscreen mode, no matter if emulated or true exclusive
mode, all flares (or, to be more general, all alpha-transparent polygons)
appear only in resolutions higher than 800x600, i.e. starting with 1024x768.
Color depth is not an issue, the phenomenon doesn't vary with it.

Anyone got ideas on this?

Thanks a lot

Wolfgang Kienreich

PS: Regarding the demo I've promised after the response to my bump- and
environ-map code: Its nearly finished, I'm just now doing the final models
and the soundtrack, and I shall release the thing (and submit a paper on it)
at the end of August.
