David,

I just got back from JavaOne, and Scott McNealy (Sun CEO) mentioned this 2
hour port in his keynote on Tuesday!

I also got a chance to see Magicosm running at the Java 3D booth. Very nice.
There was lots of interest in games for Java including J2ME/CLDC games and I
saw a nice demo of GL4Java on JDK 1.4 (the JCanyon example, and a new
example using cartoon rendering and skinning from the MIT media lab).

There was also some GL4Java demos at the Mac OS X talk I attended, where
someone also asked when Java 3D will be supported. No really answer yet --
but the Aqua LNF looked great.

Sincerely,

Daniel Selman

We have a writeup on our site from our experiences at the Game Developer's
Conference this last week. Java3d got a lot of good press throughout the
conference and we were really pleased to be a part of it. Thanks goes out
to Doug Twilleager from Sun who helped us get our demo to work on
Solaris... in under 2 hours!

Feel free to have a look-see.

We also have a bunch of screenshots up at
