Are there known issues with Linux? Any workarounds? I've been using the Blackdown 1.3.1 beta for java3d and the Sun 1.4 jre.

I found that Sony will released Linux for PlayStation2 kit around this
coming May. Does any one have a plan to port Java3D to this platform?

As I stated that I installed a new copy of XFree86 4.2 and the Mesa3D 4.0.1
into my notebook, I "did not" do the following thing!

Java3d runs very nicely on Linux.
I highly reccomend it.
And Java3d runs in Mozilla on Linux ( and windows ).
Linux and the other Unixes were MADE for

apps on peformance and bugs, which results in a big surprise for me:
1. performance:
got ~100.0fps on Linux (~80.0fps on Win2k) with my terrain-demo
2. bugs/differences
i noticed a big difference with the Keybo

Some days ago I installed the new nvidia driver 0.9-769 for linux and
XFree86 4.02 . Since then X crashes about every 5th time I start a
Java3D application. In my previous configuration (nvidia 0.9-5 / XFree
4.01) I nearly never had any crashes.

We've run into an interesting clash with the BOFs. I know there's a lot
of interest here with J3D on Linux so I thought I'd crosspost a bit of
what is happening.

Basically their BOF is on at the same time
In an attempt to run HelloUniverse in the java3d demos dir I get this output.
Xfree86 4.0. Proper Glide version. Proper Mesa version. Proper Glut version.
(as far as I know. If you know appropriate versions please let me know.)
Normal GL programs work fine.
