Hi
Does anybody have a benchmark for Java3D applications running on S3
Savage Card(NT4). I want to get some figures on the achieved fps vs
triangle count.
thanks

It's good to hear that progress is being made in these areas (rendering
speed and memory footprint). The smaller and faster Java3D is, the better
it will look compared to whatever 3D technology Microsoft is cooking up in
their kitchen-of-horrors :)

Hi,
I went there to try this benchmark :

Sorry for this stupid question. I read the j3D guide from Sun and they talk
about immediate and retained mode for rendering. But I did'nt really understood
how to implement both. And

In its current form, I would say 'no'.
This is one particular beef that I have with Java3D. Why is it so slow, and
why does it balloon up in size as more items are added to the scene

I'm relatively new to the Java3D world, but I have been a long-time user
of OpenGL. I have recently been asked to evaluate the feasibility of
using Java3D instead of OpenGL for many of our upcoming graphics
projects, and wanted to find some statistics on how Java3D stacks up.
Obviously the API is
