Although I just bought a myTouch (T-Mobile's version of the HTC Magic)
just six months ago, the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and hi-res screen
of the Nexus One is extremely tempting since bringing up the home
screen is so painfully slow on the myTouch. The five home screens and
radio on/off widgets a

The time is in the notification bar. Are you expecting the date to

There's no room for the date in the notification area. It's great
having the time there though! If you want to see the date, pull down
on the notification area--
But nobody will be listening, thanks to Steve :)

I think the iPhone has made us look to every phone release as some
kind of second coming and an expectation of 'one device to rule the

With Android pushing out to more and more devices it's going to be
like the 'old days', new phone models from vendor after vendor coming
and going on a regul

How so? It will pull down contacts from gmail, facebook etc. What
exactly is "less than wonderful"?

There are a lot of negative comments/reviews out there for some reason
- most of which appear to be existing iPhone owners.

Why so negative?
Yah, it was a little dim in daylight when I first got it,
but I went into settings and turned off the "automatic" brightness
feature and how it's great. Awesome actually IMHO.
I think the auto brightness feature should have a calibration option.
Any android googlers here?

Hi,
I was listening to jp#292 Roundup 09 - Automated Testing and
Refactoring, and one of the participants mentioned a log analyzing
program that sounds interesting. Unfortunately I'm not able to hear
the name of said program, and the shownotes do not mention it. Do any
of you know the program?
It it interesting to me that in the time that I have listened to the
podcast, I have heard lots of banter about which IDE is better, but no
discussion about the editing paradigm. IDEs tend to do editing using
familiar word processor actions. Watch someone coding in windows some
time and see how m
