Seems like as long as updates don't cause things to break (i.e. Changing
from Sun to Oracle), your not on an isolated network, not concern with CM
or legal restrictions, that it could potentially be feasible.

While starting to read "Effective Java™, Second Edition", there is
mention of the method BigInteger.probablePrime() which was added in

Anyone aware of any additional details about JavaME.Next (1) ?
There was indication (2) there would be some get together in Bonn to
discuss the way forward on this (this may have been the one of the JCP
EC meetings "behind closed doors"). Anyone know anything about this?

There is a project which "forks" open Solaris to help replace some of
the close source parts of Open Solaris, similar to what was done with
Open JDK.
Perhaps this is the way forward for some of these concerns. For more
