Jason, The run from system tray isn't relevant for whether JAWS starts before or after the logon (i.e. whether it's a service or not). By default the JAWS program is in the Alt + Tab list, which some people like and some don't. If you don't like it, check the run from system tray checkbox and it

I think this happens because the keyboard is locked. Hitting CONTROL-ALT-DELETE should get the speech back. At my work, the IT folks have the computers programmed to lock after 20 minutes of inactivity. If I am in the office when it happens, I hear JAWS read the screen that pops up, and then it
