When this was first announced a number of months ago, I think I remember
someone at FS saying that you could run the dongle authorization and
Jaws on a thumb drive, but it would take up 2 USB slots. Someone else
indicated that dongles and some thumb drives can be daisy chained and it
would work on

Hi Max,
In my opinion, since you know where to obtain the fix, go ahead and download
the update that caused the problem, then download the fix for it.
This way you don't lose any of the security protection that's already
included in the update, and the hot fix may just add on to the update.

Hi. I had exactly the same thing happen. My solution was to use restore
points and then tell the update program not to bug me about this update
again. If I want to use this fix and then get the update how do I get it
back? Or should I do the update first and then get the fix?

This is a problem that was primarily due to the installation of the latest
update from Microsoft.
