Hello all,
I need urgently to learn how to work with Linux. I know there's a software
called vmware, that I can use under windows to create a virtual machine where
to install and learn and use Linux OS. I heard that there
are jaws scripts for VMWare server that make it accessible. Does anyone
I found a utility for assisting in the installation of scripts, in fact if
memory serves the author is a member of this list. It's called jump pack and
what it does is assist a person by helping them place scripts ETC in the
correct location so jaws may pick them up. I've actually had it for a
Hello everyone,

Hi Rick,
Normally is opening a word document and reading it with the normal jaws

installed jaws 9 and the answer came on this list. I just can't remember
what I did to make it work. I thought I had saved the email, but
Is it possible that you want the Normal setting under the view menu?
Open the view menu with Alt+V then arrow to normal and press enter on it
to check it.
That should get you back into normal view.

HI Lisa
It's probably because the program doesn't check to see whether you already
have the materials installed. It seems normal from my perspective. I
wouldn't worry about it. smile Take care.

Hi Lisa,
Just a guess here but I suspect you installed the training materials
when you installed your JAWS 8 version in the past. As a result, you are
seeing that training material when you look at training in the JAWS 9
help menu, since all training material will be stored in the same
location to
This was certainly an issue during the JAWS beta stages, using Word 2000.
What you may still have to do is delete the normal.dot , which is the
template file. MS Word then automatically creates a new blank one when you
next open the program.

Hi Eric,
Yes I did install my jaws 8 training material. After I installed jaws 9 I
left the CD in the computer, and I restarted my computer. Then I installed
my training material for jaws 9. Now I'm even more confused as to why I
keep getting this message. It sounds like I'll just half to
Lisa,
Not sure what has happened. Just uncheck the box in the Wizard where it
asks if you want to install it and it should stop asking you.

Found my answer. I had originally thought I had gotten it from this group

Enhanced edit support needed to be unchecked.

I'm using Word 2000 and have done so for many versions of JAWS. I've never
had to make any special settings in Word for it to function ok. What is

Dear List
I have just tried to connect a microphone to my new PC. Unfortunately the
computer is trying to be too clever for its own good. Instead of having a
mic in socket the Tex high definition audio driver simply recognises that

I have a similar issue in that, after installing the basic training from the

Hi, I recommend Logitech USB microphones. They're plug and play, meaning no
third party drivers are required. Mind you, I'm not sure if they'll work
under Vista (anyone tried it under this configuration?), but I do know they
work under XP and possibly earlier. Hope that helps.
