I have a problem with focus, using XL and JAWS 8 at work as well, getting
that same initializing message.
Rather than moving windows I just hit the alt key and the escape key and all
is well again.

HI Ryan,
Speaking strictly from experience, any time I open an Excel sheet, this

Hi Ryam,
I usually get this message when Jaws is initialized and when I open

Basically, just ignore the message and wait until Jaws stop speaking.
I believe that the initializing is caused by change

Hi,
I don't think it is a message box or any other kind of dialog. If it were, I
thought I would be able to find it by using the Jaws cursor or virtualizing
the window. If I switch to the Jaws cursor or virtualize the window, all I
see is the worksheet itself.

Hi, not Denny, but yes it does. Try unchecking "use sticky insert",

No Denny that didn't do what I wanted.
When you press the insert down and then the next key you press it like you

So after you press insert ctrl s, all you are holding down is ctrl s.
Does that make since?

Hi,
You can just type jaws8 and press enter when in the run dialog. The usual
way to start any version of Jaws from the run dialog is to type "Jaws" plus
the version number.
