I finally figured out how to make it scan daily, Do I need to have it on all
the time to be protected?
If so, how do I do this with jaws?

Hi Mo,
I will try what you have suggested and wait to see how my student receives
them. It has been my experience in the past when scanning a document to send
to a sighted person that the only result that was even legible and true to
the original layout was if I scanned it to Microsoft Outlook at
I tried that link and got the increasingly usual

Hi Annie.
HTML will probably maintain the orriginal layout, either that or
microsoft word format. The best thing i'd recommend is to experiment
and see which one preserves the format best for you based on the result
that you want.

Hi Andy,
Formatting is something to consider as I scan English language teaching
course books. The pictures that might appear on a page are not important,
but what is important is how the page is divided horizontally into sections
and sometimes in these sections there are "cartoon-like" conversatio

JAWS is a screen reader only. The same company sells a screen

No screen reader will read a document that is simply scanned, because
the result is an image, a picture of text, rather than text itself. You
will need to convert the result into another format, such as RTF, DOC,
DOCX, or TXT. If formatting is important, than you should convert to

Hi Annie.
Its a pleasure to help, that's what this list is here for! Yes, you're
right. Jaws is just a screen reader. Supernova is a screen reader and
magnification package all roled in to one. Freedomscientific, the
makers of jaws, also have a sollution similar to supernova called
magic.
Hello, here is the corre3ct site, it is www.jaws-users.com.
The other one will give you a page cannot displayed message.
Hope this helps.

In addition to what has been written, i can say, that it is necessary to

Hi Annie.
Jaws is just simply a screen reading application. This means that the
content that is in a text file will be read to your student, and unless
she has a braille printer called an embosser and transcription software
to work with that printer, she will not be able to print the document
