Mike,
To successfully save a new file as normal.dot, (with Word closed) find
and delete the old normal.dot. Microsoft wod will automatically replace
it when you reopen the program. Then make your settings changes and save
as you have been doing. The following is subject to be verified:- Note,
Thanks-it looks good. I also tried the suggestion to paste the text from
the web into Notepad and then into Word and that worked as well-problem
solved-thanks to all.

I'm using jaws12.0. Lately I've been noticing on some websites, I'm not sure if
it's the way it's formatted or not but jaws will say use jaws+alt+r to read
descriptive text, this is annoying. Is there a way to fix this?

Hello Mike,
I do not have a system with Word 2002 on it, but here are a few thoughts.
When you save the file just use the name "normal" (without the quotes of
course, but also without the period and D O T). Use tab key to the files of
type and press enter key on the choice for document templates

If your using xp, just go to control panel, add/remove programs.
Should show in list.
If using vista or win7, control panel, programs and features, just
hit enter on it in list.

choice but it just says adobe air set up. How do I remove it?
Thankyou.

Hello Wayne,
When in Microsoft Word, you can use Alt+CTRL+V to bring up the "paste
