Hi
In the latest JAWS update, the personal settings for individual web pages
are now part of Quick Settings. While in internet explorer, press JAWSKey+v
to open quick settings. Type inline frames in the search box. You will see
two results. The first is under Virtual cursor options and is the

to the oxford English Dictionary on-line.

thanks for that. Searching for inline finds the 2 inline frames
references. However, searching for personalized returns no matches
found. the personalized Web Settings however does exist there, in its
altered part.

Remember how we used to press control+alt+delete in order to bring up the task
manager in Windows XP?
Remember how simple it was?
No having to tab around to the task manager button, no worrying about if your
speech was going to be killed off as soon as you pressed that keystroke?
Well folks,
Hello all,
What would happen if I were to attempt to use JAWS 13.0.718 with the
Windows 8 Consumer Preview? Would JAWS simply fail to install, run,
and work properly? Or, is there some functionality that an experienced
JAWS user might be able to tame and work through?
All the best,
Grant

Hi Grant: There's a good and bad side to this. If you upgrade, from Windows
seven to eight, with Jaws already on, it will still work, just it will yell at
you because of not having a mirror display driver installed. If you do a clean
install however, Jaws will not, install at all on Windows
Hi All,
I ran across a tip on how to set the time for how long balloon messages will
stay up so you can have time to access them. Here you go;
In Windows 7 it's under Ease of Access. Type Ease of Access in to the
search box in the start prompt. In the Ease of Access Center go to, Make
it
Rick harmon got it to kind of work by running it as admin for installation.
I don't know about the actual functionality though as that seems to vary
from person to person. Som get it to work, others don't.

Being as it's a beta, I'm sure that was a given if something would or would not
work. So far, Jaws is ok for me, though I realize it's limitations.

I don't know about
Ah, naturally. I totally forgot about the mirror driver needing to be
changed. So, that means there will be no JAWS cursor support, correct?
Thanks,
Grant

Well,
I'd prefer a dictionary that can be used even without an internet connection

Yes absolutely. The latest version of JAWS 13 was released well before
the consumer preview came out, so I certainly wouldn't have expected
full or even partial support to have been implemented by this point.
It's neat to know that it sort of works, though!

Hi Grant. Yes that's absolutely correct. and as someone who uses or used, the
Jaws cursor a bit, it was a little annoying at first. I have to say though that
they did an impressive upgrade to Window's Narrator. sorry, I know we shouldn't
talk about anything except Jaws, that's all I was going
Considering that JFW 14 and Windows 8 will be rolling out around the same
time later this year, the new JFW release is most likely going to be Windows
8 centric which makes sense, but a bummer since that means that probably a
lot of issues with current bugs having to do with Office applications
You might want to rethink that thought after hearing this about
narrator. If not fixed i doubt if it will even help if jaws happens to crash.
