Hi everyone:
I was helping a friend update his antivirus on his laptop and discovered that,
on many web sites, Jaws is not saying the edit field. On Google.com, for
example, if I press the letter E, it will go to the place where the search
field should be. Instead of saying search edit, though,

Does anyone know if there is a JAWS friendly email client that will work with

Hello:
Does anyone know if there is an email program that will run on Windows 7 and
that is compatible with JAWS? I'm helping a friend, or trying to help him, and
tried installing Thunderbird, but I can't seem to figure out how it works. I'm
not sure whether it's me or the program having issues
I have also noticed that Google is working much slower now. It may be due to
the recent release of the Google Instant search feature. There is a link at
the very top of the main Google search page that says something like,
Screen reader users click here to turn off Google instant. I just went
I'm wondering whether anyone else has experienced this with JAWS 12: When I
want to type in an edit field on the Internet--I'm using IE 8, it makes the
sound to indicate that forms mode is on, but after I type my text, I find that
the cursor is not focused anywhere near the text field I thought
Press Control A to select everything, then press Alt, H, and tab to Change
case. Press Spacebar on Change Case, tab to Upper Case, and press Spacebar
or Enter. That should change everything to upper case. To change it all to
lower case, do the same thing, only press the button for lower case.

I have been using office 2010 with JAWS 11 for about a month now and it is
doing fine so far. There are some little quirks, especially in Outlook, but
for the most part, I am able to access everything I need. The only thing I
haven't been able to figure out is how to read an html message in
You can also right click or press the applications key on the message that
came from the sender you want to block, arrow up to the junkmail submenu,
right arrow to open it, and arrow down to either block sender, or block
sender's domain.

Office 2010 support in jaws 11 was all done with the beta.
Your going to need v12 before its fully supported.
You could try custom highlight assign in the list of messages in the
inbox.

I just bought and installed Outlook 2010 and when I'm in the inbox, JAWS
doesn't read the list of messages as I arrow through it. It will read the first
one, and after that I have to use the say current line command to hear which
message I am focused on. Is there some way to make JAWS read the
for jaws 12.

Just to throw in my experience with this update:
I updated my jaws 11 yesterday through the check for updates feature under
the help menu. The update went smoothly, my computer restarted with no
problem and seemed to be running well, so I shut it down for the night.
This morning, when I

Rebooting had exactly the same result. I tried it twice. As far as the run

it. It would simply announce unknown function and then say what the key
should do. I couldn't even shut jaws down.
