The answers to your questions will depend on the device you are using. If
the device has keys on it that can be used as arrow keys, then most likely
it will work. I've used devices like this to control the computer during my
lectures. They worked pretty well. However, when my last employer provided
me with a pacMate, I used it as an infrared keyboard with the high tech
presentation system (called a Smart Board), and when I used my laptop, I
used the PacMate in Remote mode and controlled my presentation and my entire
computer with it.

If the device is more like a hand-held trackball, then it will probably not
work.

Annette

Subject: *****SPAM***** [JAWS-Users] Using a media remote

Has anyone ever used a media remote with MS Word and JAWS?
A media remote is the device someone might use with a Power Point
presentation to advance the slides.
If it is used with an MS Word document does it move the cursor?
Does it move it line by line or does it act like a page down command?
My idea is to use it with a Bluetooth headset so I can use JAWS to remind me
of my speaking notes and not have to stand by the computer all the time.
Blessings,
Tom
