David- Still cannot locate two things:
Under file size there is no 2 GB, only "16x - 2x DVD". Are we talking about
the same thing?
Also, can't find anything which JAWS reads as 'write speed"- where are you
finding that?

You can only burn as high as your cd burner will go regardless what disks say.

Sorry for stupid question #xxx :) but-I'm still confused about what JAWS

I'm puzzled that Jaws calls that box 'BACK UP FILE SIZE' but it seems to be
write speed instead.
Second stupid question of the day- There is nothing in the box faster than
4x
Ok... The manual did not explain that combo box that I could find. So it
must be giving the CD speed first, right? I read that DVD speed is 1/8 that
of CD I believe. Thanks for responding.

Am I interpreting the combo box correctly- that is, that the 16-2x means a
dual layer disc? I am assuming that I cannot use that one if the discs are
single layer- am I crazy? Thanks.

My DVD device and discs are both 16x- but discs are single layer, I think.
So would it be correct that I need to drop down to the 8-1x write speed
since the only listed 16 looks like it must be for a dual-layer DVD? Sorry
if the question is awkward- the DVD writing stuff is all new to me ;)
