Martin, I was able to get the font changed in Word but can't find where in Excel you are talking about, of course I'm not using the same version as you and that is probably why. I greatly appreciate this information and for the time being I can type what I need in Word then copy and paste it into Excel.

That will take you to the Font dialog box. You'll land in the list of fonts. Arrow down or use first letter navigation to select the font you want to make the default font. Press ALT plus D to activate the make default button. Then tab to okay button. This will affect all new documents, not current ones. Hope that's what you wanted. Not sure about Excel 2010 because I don't have it. In Excel 2013 you go to Options and look in the General category for the title When creating new workbooks. There is a box called Use This Font where you can set the font. If you need more detailed instructions let me know. But like I say I don't have 2010 and never used it. When I go to the home tab in the ribbon to font it tells me "edit, combo box collapsed", if I start to type the first letter of what I want it will change the word that the cursor is on to that type but with the work I am starting I need it to be in that font all the time. I have tried multiple ways that I can think of to change this for all the time but nothing seems to make the change permanent. If someone can give me some pointers, I would greatly appreciate it. I am in Calibri and I am looking to make it Times new Roman.
