the order in which Word or WordPad appears on your taskbar. Arrow down and
you will see your recent files and those you have pinned to the jump list.

No I don't. Did you try it? After pressing alt+windows plus the appropriate
number for the item, you just arrow down and will see the items you have
pinned to the jump list.
