So does GoldWave records wave files as it comes from the tape and then I
have to convert in MP3? Or is there a way to make the file be MP3 as it is
grabbing the sound from the tape?
Thanks, and sorry for the ignorance in case it is a obvious answer!

Hi! You can hit f11 in goldwave and set up all your preferences and stuff.
My goldwave saves in mp3 by default no problem. I hope this helps.

Hi Rachel,
As was mentioned, you can set up the default to save your recording
in MP3 format.
Personally, when I do a recording, particularly a large file, I save
it as a WAV file. The reason for this is that GoldWave can be
accessed and saved quicker in this format.
If you save the recording
want. GoldWave doesn't save that file anywhere until you tell it to. It
records in the wave format for the reasons I have indicated above.
