Remarkable piece of JAWS-friendly (surprise) work. Prior to W10's
release, I had turned Windows Updates to download but let me choose
whether to install. I only download important updates, never the
optional stuff. Yet the Get the W10 icon was placed in my system tray
causing my keyboard right arrow key to malfunction. After five months
of hassle I finally realized it was the W10 icon that was causing my
keyboard issue (slow to react?) and I downloaded the GWX10 Control Panel
last night. I just zapped the icon and today my entire system is
functioning normally, sans W10's icon.
Our tekkie advises that computer systems over about two years old (a
certain Intel chip generation?) do not reliably download W10. I am in
no hurry to adopt software from Microsoft that has (like Google,
Facebook et al., contains spyware. Alas, I would probably switch to
an Apple Mac if the ecosystem were not almost incompatible. Meanwhile I
luxuriate in freedom from the detested W10 bug.
