Not sure whether this is the correct list to ask this question but I have just received a new windows 10 laptop. I am using Jaws 18.

The email app keeps throwing me out and landing me back on to jaws. I looked at the freedom Scientific tips for using the email app and it says to use F6 to go to the reading pain. If I press F6 it doesn't say anything. Their advice was that by pressing the space bar to toggle to the correct area would enable F6 to work but still nothing.

Any tips on how to use the email app on Windows 10 would be great. My emails are downloading fine and I have managed to send some but there is obviously a setting that is wrong or I am doing something wrong.

Thanks

Jo

Simple enough, but that would do it for sure.

David, the freedomscientific tech said that the dash key on the numbers row
was giving me a space instead of a dash. I believe I was putting a space
between jaws and users instead of the dash. It didn't take him very long to
track it down

Personally I'd like to know what you believe the problem was that caused the
issues.

No, I haven't done that as I think my problem has been found. I received my
last two messages that I posted to the group. A freedomscientific tech
remotely connected to my computer and found a problem. So far so good. I
really appreciate the info that you gave me though.

Hi Fred,

did you try my suggestion?

by going to the account page at

http://jaws-users.com/mailman/options/jaws-users-list_jaws-users.com

and changing the appropriate setting on your account page, that will allow
you to receive your own messages

[JAWS-Users] Test message
This another test to see if I can receive my own email postings. I have been
able to receive the jaws-users postings to the list but not my own postings.
A freedomscientific tech remotely got on my computer and checked out jaws 17
and jaws 18 and did find a problem but I don't know if it will help the
problem that I mentioned but I am giving it a try to see if I can receive my
postings. Sorry about putting all of the test messages on the list but I
know no other way.

Thanks much,
