Even easier than shift + F10 is pressing the 3rd key right of the space bar, 
AKA the key just to the right of the windows key. I've found this application 
key extremely helpful in all programs.

With focus on the folder you want to delete hit the application key and arrow 
down until you land on delete folder and hit enter.
