I haven't had an issue with Thunderbird reading e-mails after I got a
faster computer and started using the down arrow to read once JAWS
set. Have you set your receiving emails to HTML or to text? HTML takes
longer to open - they don't open and begin reading instantaneously like
Eudora did.
just to let you know, TB is up to version 45.2.0. it maybe worthwhile to
update.

I do use it, but I wouldn't say that it is windows live mail exactly.
That said, I like Thunderbird but just now with version 45.1.1 I can't
get JAWS to read messages on it. I have to use NVDA to get my email for
now until I figure out what's going on.
