Do you need the cursor blinking? If you can do without it, disable it.

I've been running into this for years on various computers. Usually all you
need to do is move the mouse a little. You probably don't need to click the
mouse just move it. The problem is that this doesn't happen very often so
you don't think to move the mouse before you go yelling for help. grin.

I can see a little and do occasionally use the mouse especially when all
else fails. Sometimes jaws gets into a condition where pressing the arrow
keys produces the error gong. No amount of tabbing, control tabbing, or alt

I haven't had any such problem, ... I guess I've found an advantage to having
an older version. However, wouldn't unloading Jaws and restarting it work,
instead of having to turn off the computer?

jaws can be stopped by calling up the taskbar with jaws key + f11,where jaws
should be showing. then choose it and choose to end from the menu. restart
jaws with control+alt+j, if it is set up to be started with keystroke.
