This really annoyed me, there was a java update that I installed. During the process I thought I unchecked to add the yahoo search. When the update was complete, not only was the yahoo search installed the first start page was replaced with a yahoo.com page. I had to locate and remove the yahoo search and in internet options delete the first link and replace it with the weather page that I use. So make sure that the install yahoo search is unchecked, or you will lose your start up page.
