I think it did, it just took a long time to do. Plan on leaving it for
at least an hour once it has begun. If jaws doesn't start, you can hit
windows-ctrl-u to bring up narrator and figure out what is going on,
likely it will still be installing.

No, if you have windows 8 you go to the microsoft store on the start screen.
You find the free, 8.1 windows upgrade app and install it.
You are then putting a new opperating system on your computer.
