Ok. I always checked for existence with getChildElement (or whatever it
is called). This is much better.

MetaData.getElementContent() of any empty element will return an
empty string rather than a null string. An empty element was equivalent
to a non-existent element previously.

Can you be more specific about this change? It may cause problems with
my metadata code. I'll fix any problems in the cmp metadata code, but I
need to know what you changed.

I haven't had any problem building jboss
It's generated by xdoclet. I think it will be easier at this point to add
the datasource-mapping than remove the element.
I'll try to look at it tonight.

There was a change in behvior in the xml element value parser layer such
that element elements now return empty strings rather than null. This was

I am getting many, many VM crashes on both 1.3.1 and 1.4 JDK with

It is actually totally unusable.
I compile with 1.3.1 (xdoclet doesn't support 1.4), and it doesn't
matter if I run JBoss with either 1.3.1 or 1.4.0, it always crashes,

Hi David.
Could you send me a copy of that catalog file? I was having a look inside the xml
files in question, and there is absolutely no references to a
local dtd. The only dtd referenced is the remote one. I tried nuking the references
in the affected files, but there is a thirdparty jar
;)
Could be true though... after I wake up I am a complete asshole for several
hours...

I can see that you love this hormonal excuse now ;)
It looks serious enough so that people don't try to argue with you ;)

Hello,
It seems that with 3.0RC2, calling home.remove(pk) while no bean exists with
this PK, generates a TransactionRolledbackException.
The NoSuchEntityException exception cannot be catched: the transaction is
rollbacked (and thus the exception seems to be wrapped *before*)

David Good posted a mapping for JBossCMP about an hour ago. I looked at
their site about a month ago and it looks promising. I think the is a
new db (not hypersonic based). It is embedable, but it is GPL. I don't
think we can embed a GPL application. Anyone?

I also saw CCE on a Sun 1.3.1 JVM on WinXP. You can make it occur by

The problem lies in the fact that the testsuite uses the same classpath to
run as it does to build. In testsuite/build.xml, part of the
'tests.classpath' property (which is used in the build *and* junit tasks)
includes 'thirdparty.classpath'. Well, the thirdparty.classpath property
