Category: JBossServer Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Matthew Munz (mattmunz) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Custom server configuration utility Initial Comment: The minimal configuration doesn't have quite enough in it for some tasks, and the default config has a lot of features that aren't often needed. Currently, if one wants to create a pared-down configuration, one needs to delete given files under /deploy and modify and remove files under /conf, manually. It would be convienient to have a tool to facilitate this process, kind of like a package manager. Given that dependencies are often declared in *-service.xml, it seems that it should be possible to write a tool that inspects the "default" or "all" configurations and then allows the user to pick and choose the server modules to add. Dependencies would be pulled in as needed. Creating a custom configuration is useful for reducing the start-up time (and probably the footprint, too). A tool like this would make that process easier (It isn't all that hard right now, BTW). - Matt Munz ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=376688&aid=669907&group_id=22866 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: Thawte.com - A 128-bit supercerts will allow you to extend the highest allowed 128 bit encryption to all your clients even if they use browsers that are limited to 40 bit encryption.
