I separate my application in different layer :
- mutliple war containing the ui layer
- one .spring file containing the business layer and the DAO (POJO class, no
EJB)
We I deploy the first time all the apps (.war and .spring) everything work
fine .

We found the solution for our project. Because of the (old) architecture of our
project, we are forced to use a non-standard configuration. That is, we use
Standard CMP 2.x EntityBean with cache invalidation for our Entity Beans, with
commit option A _and_ Optimistic Locking.

This is possibly due to the fact that you run out of DB connections. Are you
running JBC within an app server? I'd recommend using a pool of connections.

In your first situation you are injecting the ActionListener (#{...}) which

Should I be able to deploy the remoting helloworld example to a standalone
tomcat? A few properties were left out of the build script so that
deploy.tomcat didn't work like it did with the other examples I've tried.

This is the entityManager I use in the application.
Usually I can inject it using the component name, but in this case, since I
have the annotation @Intercept(NEVER), I can't do that.
Actually getting the component with a JNDI look up should work.

We never got the remoting examples deploying on tomcat, AFAIR. Not that they
can't work - just that we didn't set up all the right build and metadata stuff.

This has to be done on the client JVM, not on the server..
Also the IP you set on the client JVM is a client IP.
Messaging will use a separate IP to have the server talking to the client.
Look at documentation for more

Wiki sez that the "rolesCtxDN" is the path to the users account and not the
path to the actual group/role.
When I set this the servlet crashes with a account not found exception.
However, when I change the path to the group path. It authenticates the user
but can't find the user group/role.

I just closed the JIRA issue, but I agree with petemuir - his approach is a
better way.

You should only use org.jboss.seam.ui.facelet.SeamFaceletViewHandler if you are
using Seam 1.1 and need the enhanced method binding support.

Thanks for the reply. I removed the immediate attribute, to no avail. It
appeared, however, that because the rows were uniquely named in the resulting
JSP, that it should have worked regardless. As you might have gleaned from the
JSF, I also implemented a paginator. FWIW, If I were to traver
