after taking a closer look at ALL jboss-service.xml files in the deploy folder
I found one with the element UseJK.
It is in the JBOSS_HOME/server/all/deploy/jboss-web.deployer/META-INF directory.
Hopefully this is what I am looking for. Maybe this coud be updatet in the

Are you packaging log4j jar in your application? If yes, which version of
log4j? The TRACE level is available starting 1.2.12 version of log4j. Are you
sure you are using this (or a higher version)? And when you say, it doesn't
work, do you see any exceptions?

As this is a windows service, i dont have to call run.bat at all for starting
jboss. The Service file is an executable file that will be started
automatically and will be running in the services... A bit detailed information
will be helpful to me.

I have the same problem with JBOSS Developer Studio.
Somehow it doesn't work anymore, since i replaced the seam 2.0.0 runtime with
seam 2.0.1.
Unfortunately, the seam 2.0.0 download points to the seam 2.0.1 download, so i
can not check this yet.

You mentioned that you installed JBoss Native. So when you start the service
through the Windows Services, it reads the service.bat file which is present in
%JBOSS_HOME%/bin folder. So if you want to pass any parameters to the service,
you can edit that file as mentioned in my earlier post.
Sorry, the design is mainly in Gavin's head. Your best bet is to look at the
source code.

Can you post the contents of your log4j.properties file? And also the code from
where you are logging the TRACE level logs (if at all that class belongs to
your application).
Also, to make sure that your log4j.properties (which you mention is in a SAR)
is indeed being picked up, edit the

With the very new revs of AS-5 there were classloader and deployer changes that
might be causing this.
This might effect this behavior.

What's changed w.r.t. to JBoss Embeddable and / or SeamTest ?
I was able to move from Seam 2.0.0 to Seam 2.0.1.CR1 (yes the bootstrap stuff
changed a bit in that transition). But now, when trying to upgrade to
2.0.1.GA, I'm getting several exceptions - Here's the first:
