Sorry here it is again, I had removed the following entry from the
jbpm.cfg.xml.
Error gives no clue to the actual issue. I noticed that the default
configuration file jbpm.default.cfg.xml in the jbpm4.jar only adds the
hibernate configuration.

Always follow the "caused by" trail of the first exception stack trace. If you
do that, you will see that the root cause is:
Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
It looks like you have modified the run.bat because the typical heap settings

I am running 2 Jboss Nodes (4.2.3GA) in a cluster with Jboss Messaging (1.4.2
SP1) and Jboss remoting ( 2.4.0SP1).

The pb is not on getting a reference on processinstance.
The pb is the final state value is not "complete".

probably you have to do a sleep in your unit test to give the custom nodes time
to fully finish...
Or what would probably be better is to have the classes do a take() in the
execute and let the join be the 'wait for all branches to finish' (that is what

I wrote some unit tests using jbpm 4.1 and noticed that errors occur when
executions containing task are signalled. I decided to check if the unit test
SignalExecutionTest.java written by Tom Baeyens works properly with tasks.

I have found the work around for such scenario,
In JBoss, unlike Weblogic, you cannot deploy same local ejb with same local

in what nodes do you have executions? Please make e.g. a full unit test where
you demonstrate that the custom nodes are entered, left etc... And what do your
classes on the custom nodes do? If they are almost identical, post one of them.

This has to be done outside jBPM e.g. with the ESB or Seam or fully custom code.
When BPMN2 is implemented on top of the PVM something might be there out of the

I have something stranged.
Till the day before yesterday, log messages could be written into the log file
(server.log).
But since yesterday no any message was written to the log, i.g. the size of
