I trying to deploy an application that works fine in JBoss 4.2.x in JBoss 5,
and I am getting an Exception that says a service is already installed. I
already tried 5 beta 1, 2, CR1 and CR2 with no success (The same error). My
exception is shown below.

I have a similar problem as you, but the exception I got is different. I got
ClassNotFoundException, and I guess is due the unusual ClassLoader
architecture of JBoss.
Which versions of JBoss and Toplink Essentials are you using? How did you
installed Toplink on JBoss?

JBoss 4.0.x and 4.2.x are packaged with different implementations of JSF. I've
the same problem than you, and I found the solution at
