It's me again.
Thanks to Parallels I was able to do the same steps under Win XP (downloading
and installing from scratch Eclipse, JBoss Tools and JBoss AS with the same
version numbers).
Under Win XP everything works fine. So this seems to be an issue on the Mac. Is
there a known workaround or
any hints how i could further analyse this problem? anyone else with the same
problem?

it is simply the unzipped jbas 4.2.2 release. is it secured by default? my good
old jbas 4.0.5 wasn't...

I did a blank install of JBoss Tools 2.0.0.GA with a blank Eclipse EE
installation. I downloaded JBAS 4.2.2, unzipped and created a server inside
Eclipse.
When I start it, it switches to the console and shows the output as expected,
