thank you for your reply. hmm... i have installed the sun jdk and installed with a jar file. so do you mean the -compat file is not needed for the installation. and things will work perfectly. lastly, is that any source from where i can get applications to test my installtion. whether the

when i started JBOSS with the icon on the desktop which points to $JBOSS_HOME/bin/run.sh -c all i do get a message saying started in 50s : 475ms earlier i had run just ./run.sh without the parameter -c all wonder what the difference is View the original post :
