Glad it worked. This was just a temporary fix we did for now. There *SHOULD*
be a proper way to handle this in the end.

we had a similiar issue. What we did for a temporary fix was to comment out
the getIcon() call from returning a value.
so under
server\xxx\deploy\jboss-portal.sar\portal-core.war\WEB-INF\jsp\content\portlet_editor.jsp,
we did the following:
