There was a bug in the first 10g Oracle JDBC driver. Fixed in the latest
version!

What JDBC driver are you using? There are several known bugs in some older
Oracle JDBC driver with blobs. I suggest to download the latest Oracle JDBC
driver.
In addition, make sure you have the correct settings for Hibernate, especially
for BLOB data types.
