Thanks, the problem was that a bad log configuration didn't give a readable
message,
I'm no sure why, but what was missing was hibernate3.jar that is no in
the JBOSS/client directory.
Now all seems to work fine.

double-check that your client's classpath contains all the necessary jboss jars
(in JBOSS/client dir), and the EJB interface class for the bean your invoking.
