Any specific reason why you are using JBoss-4.0? The latest stable version of
JBossAS is JBoss-5.0 GA and in the 4.x series, its the JBoss-4.2.3 GA.
As for the examples, you can find the tutorials for EJB3 on JBoss-4, here
