Just in case anyone is watching this thread, the binding service still does not
work in JBossAS 5.0.0.CR1.
I found this issue: http://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBAS-5568. But it is
messaging and sample-binding.xml specific. I was going to add a comment to make
that issue a general bug on servi
You have both servers running, so that is all there is to running multiple
servers of the same box using different ports.

Hi, here is what I've done so far.
1) I copied .../server/default to .../server/node1
2) from node1 I edited jboss-service.xml and uncommented "Service Bindings"
section
3) I ran both default and node1 and it has started ok.

No, I said that JBossAS 4.0.2 is 4 to 5 years old. The binding service has
been the centralized way to configure port ever since I have worked with
JBossAS (3.2.3), and continues to work even with EAP 4.3. (My comment about
not having tried 4.3 was that my group has not adapted our app to 4.3.
