The error occurs during deployment. I am using the default hypersonic
database. I downloaded the bundled 2.4 GA Portal release, then pulled the 2-4
branch code from CVS, compiled, and deployed to an unmodified version of the
bundled 2.4 GA Portal release. I also compiled the portal from the
ok. exception is normal as it checks and creates tables for the first run.
Instances descriptor was wrong. Please try again from cvs
JBoss_Portal_Branch_2_4. It should be ok this time.

please try with
cvs co -r JBoss_Portal_Branch_2_4 jboss-portal-2.4
2.4 development is currently moved to JBoss_Portal_Branch_2_4 branch and HEAD
is for future 2.6 for now.

I pulled it, compiled it, and tried it. It gets a JDBC Exception and fails to
create an instance of the Forums.

I pulled the portal from CVS today using this command
cvs -d :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/jboss co jboss-portal-2.4
I still get the same problem with the compiled version of the forums in CVS.
No users can preview or post forum messages. I tried against the GA release of
the portal
