I'm not actually sure if they have a date control yet. It might end up that we
give them the one from Seam (they take over maintenance) or they may write a
new one from scratch. I'm certain it's on the drawing board though.

I agree with you that it is not critical, especially if it becomes deprecated.
Actually I will try the RichFaces date control. As long as it does the job, I'm
fine with it.
And if it doesn't, then I'll file bugs to the RichFaces guys :)

Post it in JIRA, and if the changes aren't too complex then it shouldn't be a
problem for us to implement them. Please be aware though that selectDate will
become deprecated in favour of an equivalent RichFaces date control - we've
already burnt a lot of development time working on JSF controls
I know this is not that exciting, but any comment on this?
